An unsuccessful candidate for Nyaribari Chache MP seat has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint Opposition leaders to his Cabinet for national cohesion, healing and development.
Rael Otundo, who had vied on a Kenya National Congress ( KNC) ticket, said the appointments would ease anxiety in the country and enhance peace.
Speaking to People Daily in her office yesterday, she urged Uhuru to ensure regional, ethnic and gender balance in key government appointments to comply with the constitution.
The Kisii politician, however, maintained competence should be a key consideration. She challenged elected leaders to fight for the welfare of Kenyans, adding that a majority of leaders are fighting for party interests, negating their role of representation.
