Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives on Thursday evening arrested six senior officials of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) over procurement irregularities.

The six are accused of flouting procurement laws during the evaluation of tender for renovation of the Communications Authority of Kenya’s stand at Agricultural Society of Kenya Show.

EACC detectives pounced on the Assistant Director and Head of Procurement Joyce Nyambache Osinde and five tender committee members, Stanley K. Kibe, Leo Kibet Boruett, Vincent Ngundi, Jane Jeptanui Rotich and Philip Kiplangat after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji gave consent for their arrest and prosecution.

EACC had forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions on January 16, 2019 and in a letter dated May 6, 2019, DPP gave consent to arrest and arraign the suspects in Court.

Meanwhile three people including CAK former Director, Consumer and Public Affairs a Mutua Muthusi, CAK Secretary John Omo and Peris Nkonge are still being sought by EACC.
