Ministers frustrated our work, says PIC

The Public Investments Committee (PIC) has expressed concern over delays by some Cabinet secretaries and accounting officers to honour its summons.

In its final report to the National Assembly, the committee said PIC programmes have been disrupted and frustrated by some accounting officers’ constant requests to reschedule meetings.

According to the committee chaired by Eldas MP Adan Keynan, accounting officers must take Article 125 and 229 (8) of the Constitution, which relates to presentation of evidence on the accounts of State corporations, seriously.
