Gov’t defends decision to employ doctors from neighboring Tanzania

Health CS Dr Cleopa Mailu has affirmed that indeed doctors from neighbouring country Tanzania will be working in Kenya effective April 1st this year, and they will be on a 2-3 years contract.
He further went ahead to dismiss claims that those doctors will need training, this is despite the Tanzania Doctors Union saying that the process should stop at least until the Government of Kenya implements the agreement between them and the Kenyan doctors, this is as the doctors union now claims that there is a shortfall of 83,000 doctors in the country.
