Former ODM executive director Magerer Langat claims the Opposition cannot win this year’s General Election.
He said a united opposition through the much hyped National Super Alliance (Nasa) mooted by Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has no chance of beating Jubilee Party (JP) in the polls because its leaders do not have what it takes to ascend to power.
Speaking on Saturday in Kipkelion East constituency, Kericho, during a political rally convened by an aspirant for Kericho governorship seat Fred Kirui, Magerer said the Opposition will be thrashed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in August poll.
“All those Opposition leaders do not have what it takes to lead the country. I urge Kenyans to reject them because they have nothing to offer,” he said.
Magerer claimed that Kenyans have since realised Cord leaders just whine over non-issues to tarnish the good name of the government. He has announced he has joined Jubilee and would vie for Kipkelion West Parliamentary seat in this year’s polls.
Meanwhile, Kangema MP Tiras Ngahu has warned Opposition leader Raila Odinga against making utterances which might spark violence. Ngahu said Raila and his team had sensed defeat and are trying to clutch on anything that would destabilise the country.
Speaking during a voter registration mobilisation tour, the MP expressed his concerns over claims by the Opposition that the government is planning to rig the elections saying it could fuel chaos.
He challenged Raila to table any evidence that he has instead of making baseless claims aimed at causing panic to the people.
