The reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna is in the country. The beauty queen jetted into the country Monday evening alongside Miss World Asia, Maria Harfanti, Miss World chair and the founder of Beauty with a Purpose ambassador programme, Julia Morley and Miss World events director Steve Douglas.
Speaking at a press conference, Permanent Secretary Joe Okudo expressed confidence in Kenya’s ability to host the competition, and marketed Kenya as the ideal destination to explore talent.
The beauty queens visited Gertrude’s Children Hospital, Muthaiga. She also awarded Miss World Kenya 2014, Idah Nguma with Sh1 million prize for winning 2014 Beauty with a Purpose category at Miss World.
