Detectives are holding more than 250 sacks of tobacco worth millions of shillings, whose owner allegedly evaded paying tax after shipping the goods from India.

Speaking yesterday after a raid at Wall Street Business Park, where the consignment was hidden,  Head of Flying Squad Musa Yego said detectives are pursuing the owner of the property.

The sleuths are also holding 10 rolls of copper wire, 3,900 pieces of utensils and deodorants. According to police, the owner of the property lied to KRA officials and paid Sh380,000 when he should have parted with more than Sh50 million. Yego said police arrested two drivers and three loaders to provide more information.
