The 2019 Form One selection exercise will take place in both national and regional venues from Monday next week. The national launch will take place on December 3 at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), presided over by Education Cabinet secretary Amina Mohamed.
On the other hand, the regional launch will be held on December 5 in designated venues within respective regions.
“You are required to invite participating CDEs, Sub-County Directors of Education, Principals of secondary schools and other stakeholders within the regions for the exercise and arrange for conference facilities, sitting arrangement and provision of public address system,” read a circular to regional coordinators of Education dated November 28.
It added: “Please note that this exercise requires a lot of dedication, diligence and commitment for it to succeed.”
North Rift, comprising Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Turkana and West Pokot counties will be hosted at Moi Girls’ High School Eldoret. In Coast, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River, Taita Taveta and Lamu counties will congregate at Coast Girls High school.
In South Rift counties of Kericho, Bomet, Nakuru, Narok, Baringo, Samburu and Laikipia, selection will be at Afraha High School.
For Kisumu region, comprising Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia and Bungoma counties, the exercise will be at Kisumu Polytechnic while in the Metroplitan region of Nairobi, Kiambu and Kajiado, it will be at Mang’u High School.
For the Central counties of Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a and Nyandarua, the selection will be held at Nyeri Technical while in Eastern counties of Machakos, Kitui and Makueni it will be at Machakos Boys High school.
For North Eastern comprising Garissa, Wajir and Mandera, the Form One selection will be held at North Eastern Province Girls High School while at Upper Eastern region, comprising Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Marsabit and Isiolo will be in Kaaga Girls.
