Top KCPE 2018 candidates score 453 marks

Two candidates, Olive Mwea and Rawlings Odhiambo who sat for this year’s KCPE exams have tied in joint top position with a score of 453 marks, Education CS, Amina Mohammed has revealed.

Speaking at Star of the Sea Primary School in Mombasa while releasing the 2018 KCPE exam results, Ms Mohamed noted that the 2018 examinations were free of exam cheating.

The CS said this year’s overall performance was better than last year’s with the number of students who scored over 400 marks having increased from 9,846 to 12,273 this year.

The CS also revealed that over 50 percent of the candidates scored above 250 marks.

Candidates can check their results by sending an SMS with their index number to 20076.

The selection of candidates who will join Form One in 2019 will start on December 3.
