University student bags Sh0.5 million on Jambo betting platform

A university student has won Sh0.5 million in prize money courtesy of Kenya’s newest sports betting platform, Jambo Bet.

James Nzau Muimi, a final year International Relations student at the United States International University-Africa was awarded at arousing event at the Jambo Bet offices in Nairobi at the weekend.

Narrating his experience, Muimi who is also an accomplished part-time DJ first placed a bet of Sh3,000 that resulted in a Sh27,000 win.

This boosted his experience and sure of his choice of outcomes, a close friend topped up his bet amount with an additional Sh3,000 boost.

With the final whistle of the basketball match between Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards, Muimi secured his mega win of Sh547,011.

He said: ”This is the biggest bet I have ever won. I have played on different platforms but from my evaluation, Jambo Bet came across as having the better odds compared to the rest. The rest don’t have good margins so Jambo Bet presented a better chance for me to win. This win has been great for me since I have been able to pay my parents to rent as well as school fees for my sister and me.”

Muimi is a very ambitious entrepreneur. He is the founder of a fast-rising entertainment outfit-Mo Town, and also has plans to launch a clothing line later in the year.

His go-getter attitude has landed him quite a number of gigs as a DJ around Nairobi, and his future plans include elevating his skill so that he can be a formidable name in the entertainment space.

Speaking during the cheque handover, Jambo Bet Head of Marketing Ivory Musyoki said: “We are ecstatic to have James as one of our big winners and are encouraged that we are doing things right. We are ready to shake the tables, after all, there is room for everyone,” she said.
