Shabana FC will be counting on the impact of the ‘12th man’ when they take on Mwatate FC in the FKF National Division One League playoff at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.
The winner of the two-leg playoff will clinch the final promotion place to the second tier National Super League (NSL) and having previously been a revered team in the Kenyan Premier League, Shabana have summoned all their arsenal to push them to victory.
Being the third community team in the country, Tore Bore have a huge following and this is what they will be counting on to help them realise their ambitions.
“We are positive about winning and I am urging our fans across the country to come out in large numbers and cheer our team,” Boniface Ntabo, Shabana fans chairman told People Sport.
Ntabo also sent an appeal to Gusii region leaders to emulate what Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Deputy President William Ruto did to Harambee Stars against Ethiopia during their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier by financially rewarding the players so that they stay motivated.
“This is our team and we need to rally behind it especially in times like these. They need maximum support and motivation to grab this chance to the NSL,” added Ntabo.
