A man has accused veteran politician Jackson Kibor of eloping with his 30-year-old wife. Isaac Kosgei of Uasin Gishu county reported at the Eldoret Central Police Station that his wife of 17 years and two children disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Speaking to People Daily yesterday, Kosgei said he believed his wife, Mercy Sultan, is having an affair with Kibor.
“I understand he has been a frequent customer at the herbal clinic where she works,” said Kosgei.
He claims Kibor has been showering her with gifts and driving her home from work in the evening.
But the 87-year-old Kibor denied he had eloped with her. He, however, admitted knowing her and occasionally giving her a lift but said his age could not allow him to snatch another man’s wife.
“I have nothing to do with the disappearance of that young man’s wife. He should leave me alone,” said Kibor.
Sultan also denied she was in a relationship with Kibor, but accused her husband of failing to pay dowry to her family for the time they have lived together.
Kibor was in the news last year during a messy divorce case with his wife of 52 years. The wife and her children blamed the divorce on Kibor’s marriage to a 36-year-old woman.
