Nyong’o family property case ruling set for today

Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o will know outcome of the succession case of his father’s multi-million-shilling property when the court rules on the matter today.

Nyong’o’s nephews, Geoffrey Omondi and Kenneth Okuthe, had sued him and his sister Risper Nyagoy for allegedly leaving out some relatives from the list of beneficiaries of the deceased Hezbon Nyong’o’s estate.

The applicants said the administrators left out two of their sisters (Margaret Awuor and Judith Nyong’o) from the list of beneficiaries.

Kisumu High Court judge Justice Tripisisa Cherere had in August directed that she would rule on the matter on October 11. The ruling comes after several attempts to have the family settle the estate row out of court went futile.

Nyong’o and his sister had earlier dismissed the case, saying it was filed to embarrass him given his position.
