Jericho All Stars scored the highest number of goals during the 14th round of Super 8 Premier League. They walloped 2016 champions and perennial rivals Kayole Asubuhi 4-0 in a one-sided match held at Camp Toyoyo grounds.
Goal-poacher, Victor Walera grabbed a brace in both halves before Bundu Engo and Musa Ali added further goals to ensure the Jericho leaped to second on the log. Kayole subsequently dropped two spots on the 16-team log to 12th with only 14 points.
Meanwhile at Ziwani grounds, Kelvin Korea’s goal in the 14th minute ensured Team Umeme grabbed three points against visitors NYSA FC.
The win saw Umeme climb one spot to position 14 with 11 points while their opponents dropped a spot down to fourth with 25 points. Elsewhere, Shauri Moyo Blue Stars suffered a 3-1 defeat in the hands of RYSA.
Goal-poacher Ali Abdi netted for Kawangware in the 11th minute through a superb volley before his efforts were cancelled out by Washington Vihembo four minutes to half-time
Kawangware, who are keen on defending their title, have so far collected 26 points.
Elsewhere, 2015 Super 8 Champions League winners Technical University of Kenya (TUK) returned to their winning ways after stunning visitors and pre-match favourites Melta Kabiria 3-0 at CID grounds.
At Makongeni grounds, home team Makongeni Sports Association (MASA) failed to impress their fans who had turned up in large numbers after they were held to a 1-1 all draw by estate neighbours Shauri Moyo Sportiff in a tantalizing match that would have gone either way.
