Drama as 11 elephants are captured after terrorising farmers in Kitui

elephants captured

Drama characterised the capture of 11 elephants that had invaded farms and destroyed crops in Mandongoi and Ukasi villages in Mwingi North, Kitui county, forcing Kenya Wildlife Service officers to use a chopper to drive them away.
The animals had strayed from the Kora National Game Reserve and invaded at least 24 acres of farm land, destroying farm produce worth thousands of shillings.
The farmers say their biggest concern is that the jumbos may attack them, as they hide in bushes. However they have lauded the KWS officers for responding to their call for help, though they are counting loses.
