Cake Festival pursuing partnership with bakers


The ninth edition of Cake Festival is pursuing a cause in partnership with 80 bakers and 10 sponsors to support Edumed Trust. The Edumed Trust ensures that bright needy children receive education.

The fest offers a unique opportunity for industry gurus, home-based traders and start-ups to open up their service and products to thousands of visitors, and to establish links in the industry under one forum. It’s open to amateur bakers, home based bakers, hobbyists, professional bakers, cake artists and pastry chefs, all while raising money for a worthy cause.

Your ticket will also allow you to sample cakes, enjoy live band music, spoken word and live baking demos. The event happens this Saturday, June 16 at Kenya Wildlife Service headquarters on Lang’ata Road in Nairobi from 9am to 6pm.

Advance tickets are selling at Sh800 for adults and Sh500 for children, Sh1,200 for adults at the gate and Sh700 for children.


If you don’t have a plan on how to celebrate Eid with family, then the Lake House in Tigoni is the place to be this Saturday, June 16. The Eid Festival has prepared fun activities such as boat rides, bouncy castle, face painting and heena, among others. The event will run from 11am to 6:30pm. Entry charges are Sh500 for adults and Sh300 for children.


The event seeks to offer a night full of poetry, dance and live performances. The Ink Overflow edition will present Slam Africa winner Raya Wambui as the headlining act followed by a Q&A session. Artistes such as Vallerie Muthoni, Nicole Agneta and Ivan Irakoze will also be performing live. The event is scheduled for this Saturday, June 16 at the Michael Joseph Centre along Waiyaki Way in Nairobi from 5pm to 8pm. Entry is Sh1,000.

DRIVE AND DINE

Take a drive around the Nairobi National Park accompanied with great food and nature. The Drive and Dine experience includes park fees, a candle lit dinner, three-course meal and wine.

The event happens this Saturday, June 16 at the Wildly Coffee in Nairobi National Park from 3pm and 6pm. Entry is Sh5,000 for citizens, Sh9,500 (non citizens) and Sh8,500 for residents.


Celebrate Father’s Day with PAWA 254 at the YMCA Africa, State House Avenue in Nairobi this Saturday, June 16. The event’s aim is to bring together fathers and father figures and sons, so as to enjoy the day and make meaningful connections with each other. There will be activities for both the fathers and sons to strengthen bonds and also have fun. The free-to-enter event will run between 10am and 2pm.


The One Laugh Tour presents Churchill and other comedians at Two Rivers Mall on Limuru Road. The events theme is ‘Two by Two’, which means bring a friend or a significant other and get ready for the chekathon. The laughter event will be held this Saturday, June 16 from 6pm to 3am. Damages: Sh2,000 VIP and Sh1,000 regular.
