Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, hosted Muslim faithful to a grand dinner party at City Hall on Wednesday. Deputy President William Ruto and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka were among the dignitaries who attended the Ifta dinner.
“The contribution by the Muslim community to this county and ourcountry at large cannot be disputed. For this reason, my government is proud to be associated with it. We will be hosting this event every year because we are a united nation.
Despite our differences in religion, political affiliations and even colour, we are all equal before God,” said Sonko. DP Ruto echoed Sonko’s words saying all Kenyans are equal before God and all need to appreciate each other with love.
He added Muslims have done Kenya proud during the holy month of Ramadhan by praying for peace and tranquillity the country needs to prosper. “I would like to thank all who are on Saum, who prayed for the country,” said the DP.
