Tusker came from behind to force Posta Rangers into a 2-2 draw in a SportPesa Premier League midweek match at Camp Toyoyo grounds in Jericho yesterday.
The brewers, who had beaten Ulinzi Stars 3-0 going into the fixture, pulled the game out of the fire in added time, thanks to a sublime finish by Boniface Muchiri who was teed up by Peter Nzuki.
It was Tusker who grabbed the lead in the 30th minute when Michael Khamati’s thunderbolt from the six-yard box flew past Rangers defenders and custodian and landed in the net.
Jeremiah Wanjala restored parity for Rangers before the mail-men grabbed the second through Gerson Likono. Rangers had held Tusker to a scoreless draw in the first leg match on February 11.
Meanwhile, Vihiga United and Chemelil Sugar both who lost their last matches will be hoping for improved fortunes in their respective mid-week assignments today.
Vihiga will parade at their Mumias Complex base to challenge Zoo Kericho while Chemelil welcome Bandari at Chemelil Complex.
For the better part of the league, fans of Vihiga were in a delirium of sorts after their beloved team went several matches without a loss before the tide changed.
Although Vihiga are now blowing hot and cold, they are capable of easily beating Zoo who are at the basement of the league and are in danger of being relegated to the second tier.
As for Chemelil, their 1-0 defeat in the hands of Sofapaka last week did not auger well with their fans and hopefully, the team will be hoping that football Gods will help them overcome Bandari.
Placed sixth in the standings, Bandari are expected to rely on the likes of Boniface Akenga, Darius Msagha and Kevin Omondi in search of three points in their Nyanza outing.
