With seven days remaining before the Fifa World Cup begins in Russia, hotels in Mombasa have lined up jaw-dropping packages for visitors predominantly football fans, touring the region during the much-awaited season.
Officials at major hotels say the excitement that comes with the World Cup season cannot be underestimated, considering the popularity of football, and it is for this reason that majority of the establishments are keen to attract and retain visitors by quenching their thirst.
“We are looking beyond the expectations of the clients and we hope to surprise our guests with a lot more. It will not be just about the football matches but also treating the revelers with the best of luxury and at the same time fulfilling timely needs,” said Sarova Whitesands General Manager Siddharth Sathe.
Besides the numerous television screens at the lobbies and guest rooms, Sathe says giant screens will be mounted in an open environment at several corners of the hotel to enable revelers catch up with every action with all sorts of entertainment before kick off, at half-time and after the game.
Travellers Beach Hotel have also partnered with East Africa Breweries Limited to promote some of their brands within the hotel during the World Cup while Sai Rock Hotel General Manager Robert Kiiri says apart from mounting giant screens between the main lobby and the restaurant, they have lined up an offer of special rates in accommodation, going at 25 per cent off the usual price during the tournament.
