Fire corrupt workers, Rasanga tells officer

Eric Juma

Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has ordered County Secretary David Anyona to sack corrupt staff in the Finance and Public Works departments.

Speaking on Saturday, Rasanga (pictured) said corruption cartels have infiltrated  the two departments making it hard for him to fulfil his pledges. “Suitability tests should be conducted on people who will  be hired to work in the departments,” he said. He said the roads in the county  are in pathetic state yet the Public Works department workers, who are supposed to inspect and monitor projects before authorising payment of contractors are sleeping on the job.

He praised the Assembly for ending the stand-off that saw a delay in nomination of the Cabinet after the General Election.
