Public Service Principal secretary Lilian Mbogo Omollo was yesterday morning admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital private wing after she fell ill at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison on Tuesday night.
She had spent the night at the correctional facility where she was remanded with other female suspects charged over corruption scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS).
Witnesses said the PS was trembling and complained of dizziness before she fainted. She was first attended to by prison’s clinic staff before being taken to KNH.
“She was probably tired after sitting in court (on Tuesday) for more than 12 hours. She had to be admitted,” said a witness.
Omollo and the other accused, including NYS boss Richard Ndubai, denied conspiring to commit corruption at the youth agency. The accused are awaiting ruling on bail application.
