Algeria football officials stun Nairobians as they take the law into their hands to clear traffic to Kasarani Stadium

A section of Nairobi residents were in awe on Wednesday evening with the sight of USM Algers team officials controlling traffic with whistles on the busy Thika Super highway to enable their team reach the venue of their CAF Confederation Cup tie with Gor Mahia, Kasarani Stadium in time.

After heavy rains pounded the city, a long traffic snarl-up formed on the superhighway and were it not for the quick thinking of the Algerian officials, their team could have been late for the continental match.

The team that was staying at the posh City Lodge and Hotel in Two Rivers are said to have carried their own food stuff from Algeria and cooked by themselves and enjoyed the services of diplomatic cars offered by their ambassador, throughout their stay in the country.
