Jumia partners with Kwese for W. Cup treat

Local football enthusiasts are in for a treat ahead of the Russia World Cup after online retailers Jumia yesterday unveiled a partnership with pay television channel Kwese that will see them reward customers purchasing audio accessories from their platform with free subscription for a whole month during the event in Russia.

Fans will also enjoy pay-as-you-watch service for a choice of three days, seven days or 30 days; accessible through the multi-platform sign up on five different devices.

Kwese decoders are currently retailing on Jumia for Sh2,499 down from Sh4,990 ahead of the World Cup season, in a bid to lure football lovers before action kicks off.

“We’re very pleased to once again deliver on Jumia’s promise of being the first with the latest and the best. We are confident that our customers will have the best to choose from with Jumia as their TV destination, especially during the World Cup season,” said Sam Chappatte, Managing Director,Jumia Kenya.

The company announced the two partnerships as it prepares for the upcoming campaign dubbed ‘TV Mania’ whereby customers will purchase all televisions and audio accessories with up to 40 per cent discount.

In the deal Vision Plus will sell Smart TV’s exclusively on Jumia for a period of one month before hitting retail stores countrywide.

The brand is looking at Kenya as a gateway into the East African market, marking an important milestone towards market expansion across the continent.

Jumia runs the TV Mania campaign from May 21 to June 3 where thousands of Kenyans will own television sets at insanely reduced prices.
