Four men who have been on the run for more than two weeks were yesterday arrested and booked at Central Police Station over the assault of Nairobi lobbyist Timothy Muriuki.

Three were nabbed in  Kilimani area  by Flying Squad officers and handed over to the Nairobi Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers. The fourth accomplice  identified as Suleiman Manyange voluntarily surrendered to the police.

“Yes, four  of them are in our custody. They will appear in court tomorrow, ”  Central Police Divisional DCI boss Samuel Kobinas said. The three are Ronald Otieno, Dishon Mulinge, Michael Wathigo and Hussein Suleiman.

With police headquarters having listed the five as wanted and even offered a bounty of Sh2.5 million, each of them having Sh500,000 bounty on their heads, the manner of their arrests and surrender to police appeared more convenient.

Jogoo House circulated their photos indicating they are wanted for robbery with violence for publicly assaulting and robbing the former chairman of the Nairobi Central Business District Association (NCBDA) sh100, 000 in public glare.

On Monday, their accomplice Brian Shem Owino surrendered to police in company of his lawyer who doubles as the Orange Democratic Movement secretary general Edwin Sifuna at Kilimani Police Station.

Hours before Shem surrendered, the five wanted for robbery with violence unsuccessfully sought anticipatory orders at Milimani Law Courts.
