Naivasha! This has to be the ultimate destination, especially when you are in the mood for a detoxing road trip or a weekend spur. I have friends and family there, and it had been a minute since I’d visited them. It was a great plot to hang out, have fun and check it off my bucket list.
Our stop was at the Eseriani Hotel. The hotel is located opposite the majestic Buffalo Mall and it overlooks the landscape rolling out to Lake Naivasha. I must say this part of Naivasha is far most the best. It is quite convenient, especially at the mall, with every shop and brands that you might need.
They have it all I tell you! The Eseriani is not as big as a resort, but if you are a tourist, a lot of the sites and places to visit can be found within the vicinity.
Checking into the hotel in the afternoon allowed me to check out the view from my room. The garden area was beautiful for relaxation and the weather was perfectly sunny. The room beat my expectations. I’ve always loved simplicity.
The colour scheme was creamy white and just above the bed were two lights that create a nice executive feel.
I went out to the ENI Lounge and Restaurant. I enjoyed the piped music.
It was not loud; it fit just right with the ambience. The dining room was quite comfortable and aesthetically appealing.
There is a page of a’ la Carte options, as well as a moderately sized buffet. I must say that the lunch tasted great and I enjoyed the setting. I’ve always loved fish flakes, which I enjoyed with mashed potatoes.
They have a range of light juices and I went with a glass of fresh pineapple juice.
I really enjoyed the bathroom; there was a Jacuzzi tub, complete with bath salts. The hotel doesn’t have a spa, so I think the balance is achieved by making rooms into places for relaxation, which to me was a great idea.
The place doesn’t have a work out area. Who would need a gym anyway when you’ve come to have fun? The garden is perefect for hosting parties, but before our turnt night, the evening actually started in the lobby at the bar. Luckily, the mixologist was there to create the best old-fashioned cocktails I’ve ever had.
The proportions put me in a great mood for the rest of the evening. For dinner, I started with grilled sirloin and the meat just melted in my mouth. It came along with French fries and some mushroom sauce. I combined this with a glass of Steenberg Merlot wine.
You can never go wrong with this combination. To finish off the meal, I sampled their tasty desserts. I went for the lemon tart, which was tart indeed. It had an intense flavour that I really enjoyed. I accompanied it with a Moscatel dessert wine. This was one place I didn’t expect such. It simply blew my mind.
The service was great and the food was even better. This hotel knocked it out of the park in all sections including their restaurant. It has 16 standard rooms, two executive and two twin rooms, which are all keycard access control.
A standard room goes for Sh7,500 per night, with the twin suite going for Sh15,000 per night. It’s almost worth going to Naivasha only to visit the Eseriani Hotel and all it has to offer.
