Taskforce indicts KFS management for depletion of country’s forest cover

The board and management of the Kenya Forest Service has been incriminated in a report by a task force commissioned by the deputy president to probe the decimation  of the forest cover in the country.

Greenbelt Movement Chairperson Marion Kamau who heads the task force says the service is marred by corruption, ineptitude and recommended the prosecution of certain individuals named in the report as being most culpable.

The team also presented an envelope containing a list of individuals who are beneficiaries of illegal logging activities as the Deputy President William Ruto promised to implement their recommendations to the letter.
