Four people are being questioned in connection with the shooting dead of a police officer inside a matatu that had been hijacked on Thika Road.

The four include the driver and conductor of Neo Kenya Mpya bus in which a General Service Unit Recce company officer was stabbed and shot dead during the weekend incident.

Corporal Martin Korir was among the passengers who were held hostage for more than one hour and robbed at gun point.

During the search, the thugs realised Korir was armed and overpowered him before stabbing him severally and shot him on the neck using his gun which they also made away with.

Witnesses said he had been in a position he could not act to defend himself and the other passengers. According to witnesses, two men hopped into the bus that was headed for Thika as it slowed down at Drive Inn bumps before two others boarded it as it approached the bumps near Garden City Mall on Thika Road.
