Governors have agreed on a wide number of recommendations including “total support” for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda.
The governors also agreed to collaborate with the National government to strengthen intergovernmental relations institutions such as the Council of Governors (CoG) and the Budget and Economic Council (BEC).
“Both levels of government shall aggressively fight corruption through strategies that include undertaking lifestyle audits, corruption risk assessments and protection of whistleblowers among others in a manner that is objective, impartial and fair,” they stated in their final communique.
In an 11-point resolutions, the governors agreed that through intergovernmental collaboration, the National government will support counties to apply technology through automation of services. In addition,they agreed to strengthen value addition in agro-processing, leather, textile and blue economy to boost manufacturing.
