An enticing double-header is looming this weekend at Eastlands Makongeni ground as the Super 8 Premier League enters its seventh round.
Home team Makongeni Sports Association (MASA) will be hoping to be on their best footing to register their first win in six outings when they play host to travelling and debutants Rongai All Stars.
The match, scheduled to kick off at 3pm will act as a curtain raiser to the duel pitting estate neighbours Jericho and their rivals Shauri Moyo Sportiff. MASA’s coach Hosea Akala is optimistic that his charges will rise to the occasion and record their first win. “We are taking everything step by step but at the same time, we have to act fast.
We have made a few mistakes here and there but this time round against Rongai we cannot afford to repeat the same blunders. “We are not underrating anyone but this is our chance and ready and I am certain we can beat our opponent’s them,” said Akala whose side remains perched at 11th spot on five points one spot above Rongai.
Elsewhere, Technical University of Kenya (TUK) who currently lie at 15th place on the 16-team log expect to stun visitors Melta Kabiria at the Co-operative Bank Ground to finish at favourable spot at the end of the first leg.
The 2015 champions have only managed to collect four point in their last six matches and a win against their rivals will act as a real morale booster for the Francis Oduor-coached side.
