A leading Kenyan alcoholic beverages manufacturer, Africa Spirits Limited (ASL), plans to invest Sh200 million in non-refillable closures for its leading brand, Legend Brandy.
The company, which introduced the technology in 2015, says it will invest the funds in redesigning Legend Brandy’s caps as part of its continuous innovation strategy.
“For us to be ahead in business, we have to improve the technology we use. This demonstrates our commitment to the safety of our consumers,” Nyawira Kariuki, ASL’s head of marketing said. “Our new cap comes with a colourful twist,” she said, adding that the company is also adopting new technologies and tapping into global trends for the benefit of its consumers.
Globally, alcoholic beverages manufacturers are increasingly using non-refillable closures as part of their quality control measures.
