Gov’t sends KNH CEO Lily Koros on compulsory leave

The government has send Kenyatta National Hospital Chief Executive Lily Koros and the Director of Clinical Services Dr. Bernard Githae  on compulsory leave  pending investigations  into an incident involving a mix-up in 2 patients that  saw a brain surgery conducted on the wrong patient.
Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki who made the announcement after touring the hospital apologized to the public for the mix-up and asked the board to carry out a thorough audit of patient procedures and provide a comprehensive report over the incident.
Dr. John Ong’ech and Dr. Thomas Mutie have been appointed to take over the management of the hospital amid questions  over a series of incidents that  have cast the referral hospital into the spotlight.
