How long did you date?

Evanson: Two years.

Tell us about the proposal?

She never saw it coming. I decided to surprise her on her special day. I proposed at her birthday party on September 28, 2017.

How did you choose the colour scheme and theme of the wedding?

It was all up to my wife. She loves red and gold and I trusted her choice of colours. I loved it.

How did you settle on the venue?

We chose the place because it was beautiful and convenient, since we had just shifted to Nairobi from Meru. The ambience was perfect for our theme, and apart from that, they provide the décor, catering and photo sessions.

How long did it take you to plan the wedding?

Immediately after the proposal, we started the planning. We had a reliable team, and the two months we had was enough.

How much did your wedding cost?

We had a budget of Sh1 million, but that exceeded to Sh1.2 million.

How many guests did you have?

We had about 300 guests.

Any challenges experienced on the D-Day?

We had a garden wedding and that Saturday morning it rained heavily. That disrupted the venue. Another challenge we experienced was traffic that caused us to run late, so the ceremony started a bit late.

What was most memorable about your day?

The most memorable moment was when I saw my wife walking down the aisle, as well as the exchanging of vows. That is a treasured moment in our lives.
