2 Kenyan pilots arrive back home after being released from South Sudan

Two Kenyan pilots who were being held captive in South Sudan after their plane crashed in a rebel controlled territory are back home.

Captain Pius Frank Njoroge and his co-pilot Kennedy Shamalla were eventually re-united with their families in an emotional ceremony shortly after arriving at the Wilson Airport Tuesday afternoon marking the end to over 40 days of pain and despair.

South Sudanese rebels allied to former Vice President Riek Machar had demanded a 20 million shillings compensation for the family of a civilian killed when their plane crashed before releasing the Kenyan pilots.
