Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has slammed calls by foreign missions to Kenya, asking the Nasa leadership to recognise the Presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
Addressing party supporters at the Wiper offices in Mavoko, Kalonzo said Nasa ideology is in the minds and heart of their supporters thus forcing leaders to recognise an “illegitimate” government would not work. He said the diplomatic community cannot push leaders to “accept blatant electoral injustice”.
“Nasa is a people’s driven movement and its leaders cannot dictate the members on what to recognise. Even if you force Raila Odinga and myself to recognise Uhuru, can you force the supporters?” asked Kalonzo. At the weekend, foreign envoys urged the Nasa leadership to recognise UhuRuto Presidency and respect the rule of law.
