Family and friends of the two missing victims of the Lake Nakuru chopper crash eulogised them on Saturday in an emotion-charged funeral service.

Mourners bade farewell to the youthful Sam Gitau and John Ndirangu Mapozi during the funeral service held at the shores of Lake Nakuru after efforts to recover their remains proved futile following a three-month search.

The two bloggers were attached to the office of Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika. Gitau, according to close relatives who read his eulogy, would have on the first of this month celebrated his 25th birthday while Mapozi would have turned 27 years in June 6 this year.

Emotions ran high as the tribute to the two was read by their families. They were hailed as God fearing and committed to their work and families until their demise on October 21. “He had shared with me a plan to build a permanent house, his words still ring in my mind,” said Mapozi’s father Simon Njuguna.
