How did you meet?

Thomas: We met during a dance practice session on a Thursday that happened overnight. After a few sessions, I asked her out and we dated for five years before walking down the aisle.

What dictated your choice locations?

We had an indoor church ceremony and later on the reception at AIC Grounds, still in Kiambu. We choose the locations because my wife and I are members and serve at our church.

How about the colour scheme and theme for your wedding?

My wife’s crush colour is hot pink, so there was really no way our wedding would feature other colours! It was what you would call a done deal (laughs).

And the size of your bridal party?

The dancing formed part of the day’s highlights.

This was a bit tough because of our friends and members of the crew that I lead. We ‘closed our eyes’ and settled for seven bridesmaids and six groomsmen.

How long did it take you to plan?

It took us six months. It was not so tough though. We wrote down our plan, so it was easy to execute.

On a daily basis, we would meet up to analyse the progress with the help of our best couple.

How much did your wedding cost?

About Sh500,000.

How did you settle on the number of guests?

Since I’m a hype man, we knew the turn up would be huge. We settled for 700 guests.

What stood out about your big day?

The dancing part of it during the reception was just awesome! It made my day. Tabby: The vows part. It’s when I really felt that this was happening. It wasn’t a dream anymore (laughs).

Why would you say your wedding was successful?

We involved God from the beginning to the end, and we owe it all to Him.

Your advice to couples planning a wedding?

Choose a best couple that will stand by you both in planning and in prayer. Also, work within your budget. Don’t struggle a lot for what you don’t have.
