2 pilots held captive in Akobo S.Sudan after crash landing on January 7th

The fate of two Kenyan pilots whose aircraft crash landed while flying from juba to Akobo in South Sudan, during a humanitarian mission hangs in the balance, after they were kidnapped and held captive by rebel forces who are now seeking a 20 million shillings  ransom before releasing them.
Nine other passengers who aboard the ill fated Cessna aircraft, 5Y-FDC, were rescued, but the rebels claim the aircraft caused the death of one person, plus 12 cows and destroyed two huts as well as the airport’s perimeter fence.
The ministry of foreign affairs as well as the Kenyan embassy in Juba, are yet to speak on the matter, even as the families of the two pilots, wait to be re-united with their loved ones.
