Calls for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga have intensified as more leaders pushed for it yesterday.
Addressing journalists yesterday after a fund raising at Chemi Chemi ya Uzima Institute Centre in Nairobi, Nairobi Woman’s Representative Esther Passaris said Raila should not be ignored but instead be embraced and respected as “the elder of the lot”.
She said the former premier’s contribution to democracy is immense, adding that most of the existing politicians have been groomed by the Nasa leader. “We all recognise that Raila is a great leader in this country as his contribution in politics.
He should not be ignored and it’s important that the government embrace him and whether they like it or not, they cannot change the fact that Raila is the elder of the lot,” she said. While confirming that plans to swear in Raila on January 30 are still on, she said there cannot be development without dialogue.
