Sapit calls for dialogue to end political standoff

Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit has reiterated that the clamour for national dialogue to address “political and social issues” facing the country cannot be buried under the carpet.

He renewed calls for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga to save the country from the current political standoff.

Sapit said it is significant for both political factions to engage in structured talks as a commitment to peace and non-violent solutions on electoral justice.

His sentiments were supported by Kilifi North MP Owen Baya and his Likoni counterpart Mishi Mboko who urged the church to play a critical role in ensuring cohesiveness in the country after the polls.
