Parents flock shops to purchase uniforms ahead of the new academic term

The national steering committee on curriculum reforms is expected to meet on Wednesday morning as speculation rises over the possible postponement of the nationwide roll out of the new 2-6-6-3 education curriculum.

education cabinet secretary dr. fred matiang’i is expected to chair the meeting that will see senior education stakeholders in attendance.

This even as learning in most public schools failed to take off with teachers in pre-primary school citing the lack of teaching materials, set to be provided by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum.

Meanwhile, students alongside their parents on Tuesday engaged in a last minute rush to purchase among others school uniforms and text books ahead of the new academic term.
