Three family members from Tuthu village in Kangema are recuperating at Murang’a District hospital after they were attacked by a farmhand on Monday evening.
Joseph Waweru, his daughter Esther Wanja and grandson sustained deep cuts on the head and hands while the young boy had his face slashed on the right side.
According to Wanja, the culprit known as Mwangi Njoroge found her in the kitchen and he told her that he has mismanaged his money. He then asked for food but moments later he took a panga and cut her on the head.
“I ran out to call my father and when we came back, we found the little boy bleeding profusely on the face,” he said. The father was also hit on the head as he went out to rescue the two and they raised the alarm which attracted the neighbours.
