India turn tables, crush Sri lanka in complete sea change

After dominant start by Lankan team, Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal pulled the game back after dismissing opposition batsman in quick succession.

Hardik Pandya after being too costly in his initial overs, took two wickets after dismissing SS Pathirana for 7 and RAS Lakmal for 1 run. Fall of wickets: 1-15 (MD Gunathilaka, 3.4 ov), 2-136 (S Samarawickrama, 22.3 ov), 3-160 (WU Tharanga, 27.1 ov), 4-168 (N Dickwella, 27.5 ov), 5-189 (AD Mathews, 33.5 ov), 6-197 (NLTC Perera, 35.1 ov), 7-208 (SS Pathirana, 38.4 ov), 8-210 (A Dananjaya, 39.5 ov), 9-211 (RAS Lakmal, 40.1 ov) Chahal taking his wicket tally to three, bowled out Mathews and dismissed NLTC Perera, while Kuldeep Yadav dismissed two Sri Lankan batsman in one over to shift the momentum towards Indian team, after Upal Tharanga made an anchor innings of 95 runs.

Sri Lanka reached the hundred mark after Indian bowler Jaspreet Bumrah provided an early breakthrough in the decisive third and final One-day International (ODI) match between India and Sri Lanka at Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Bhumrah dismissed MD Gunathilaka for 13 runs.

Earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl against Sri Lanka. India made one change in their side that beat the Islanders in Mohali, replacing teenage all-rounder Washington Sundar with left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
