Voi caves steeped in history of Kenya’s liberation struggle

Exactly 54 years ago,Kenya  gained her independence, and  became  a sovereign state.
However, the road to independence was not a walk in the park as thousands of Kenyans put their lives on the line, with several liberation fighters forced to pay the ultimate price in the struggle against white minority rule.
Our reporter Shukri Wachu travelled to Wundanyi deep in the lush green hills of Taita Taveta county, where Kenya’s founding president, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and other members of the famous Kapenguria six were forced to seek refuge as they pushed for the country’s independence.
