Pascalia Kipkoech Chepkorir (pictured), the 2012 IAAF World Half marathon bronze medallist said she will be closing this season after competing in San Silvester 15km slated for December 31 in Brazil.
Iten-based road specialist will be padding the streets of Sao Paulo for her last race of the season. “I will close my season with San Silvester road Race, then I will know what next for me,” said Chepkorir winner of 10km Standard Chartered marathon recently in Nairobi.
With her focus to win the race in good time, the 2003 World Youth 3,000m silver medallist said she was on her final touches of preparations of training before travelling to the Brazilian city.
Top form runner said she is ready to compete in Sao Paulo to gauge herself as the new season has already started. “I have what it takes to take the title and improve on my speed in the Brazilian city since my body is responding well to the training. In San Silvester, I want to try my best to finish on the podium but majorly a win will be good for me,” said Chepkorir.
Having won the Berlin half marathon title in 2010, the soft-spoken runner has been consistent in her youthful age and during Isaiah Kiplagat Memorial Ndalat Gaa cross country she finished third during the first in the Athletics Kenya (AK) Calendar of events ahead of Africa Cross country and Commonwealth Games.
But she was contented with position three in Ndalat Gaa Cross country because she was tired after competing in Durban Run in South Africa the previous week.
