Leaders call kenyans to join the war against gender violence

The Wajir county government has allocated 12 Million shilling for the construction of a gender based violence rescue centre and has drafted a gender and sexual based violence bill which is awaiting the approval of county assembly in a bid to tame gender violence.

Residents from the county led by the first lady Kheira Omar Sunday took to the streets to mark the end of 16 days of activism against gender based violence a campaign that was launched on 25th of November by cabinet secretary for youth and gender affairs Cicilly Kariuki.
