It was a great night full of pomp and colour as film makers, actors and film enthusiasts converged at Crowne Plaza, Nairobi for this year’s Kalasha Film And TV Awards.
The Kenya Film Classification Board CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, spoke on the need for more local content to be churned out to the market and this was indeed an encouraging word to local producers.
The winners of the night included, Best Actress in TV Drama, Catherine Kamau, Best Actor in TV Drama Martin Githinji, Best actor Frank Kimani – Uyu Ni Mwarigwo, Best Supporting Actresses Wanjiku Njoroge, Best Supporting Actor Antony Ndungu.
The Best TV Documentary was won by Matwana Culture, while Andrew Mungai walked home as the Best Director Of Photography for the award-winning film Katikati.
As for the best local Language award, Pendo directed by Faith Musembi won while Mediamax Network Limited’s very own K24 Television, won the Best Local Content Station.
