A man is being held at Bondo Police Station after he allegedly sent KCSE examination material to a secondary school principal in Bondo sub-county. The suspect, a university student, is said to have sent the examination material to Nyawita Mixed Secondary School principal George Ogunde through whatsApp yesterday.

Area director of education Elisha Omala said the suspect sent images of the Kiswahili Lugha paper. He added that the culprit instructed the principal via a text message to share the material with a candidate in the school, who is his (the suspect’s) cousin.

Suspect lured Area OCPD Paul Kiarie said the suspect was lured to the school compound by the principal, who pretended to have appreciated his support. Kiarie said police have launched investigations into the incident. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old student is sitting his KCSE exam at the Kitengela Police Station in Kajiado county.

The student at Kitengela Mixed Secondary School was arrested over robbery with violence three days to the national examinations and was detained at the police station. Isinya OCPD Stephen Weda said the minor was arraigned in the Kajiado court but was denied bond and had to do his exams from the cells.

In Nyahururu, seven learners, among them six women, in the Adult and Continuing Studies Education are sitting the ongoing national examinations. Area director of the programme Stephen Mugi, however, lamented that despite prisoners at T-falls GK Prison wanting to pursue secondary education, the facility’s management had not granted them the opportunity.
