Supreme Court to give direction on the hearing of petitions

The supreme court is expected to issue a directive on how the top court will handle five petitions pending before the court seeking to either annul or uphold President Uhuru Kenyatta’s election victory.

This is after last minute filings on Monday night by various groups among them a consolidated petition by civil society lawyers Njonjo Mue and Khelef Khalifa, former Kilome member of parliament Haroun Mwau and the institute for democratic governance.

The supreme court has fourteen days to rule on the petitions.
