The National Police Service has redeployed police officers serving in the ‘Operation Linda’ Boni forest.
Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police Benson Kibui ordered for the changeover of officers who had earlier been deployed in the operation since February.
The letter orders several police bosses drawn from five regional commands to nominate suitable officers for deployment in the exercise set to start on Wednesday.
Kibue ordered that 10 officers be drawn from Nairobi, five from Coast, six from Central (6), Nyanza (3) and Eastern (5).
The operation was called by then Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery following the Mpeketoni attack in 2014 where more than 100 people were killed and others maimed when more than 200 heavily armed al Shabaab militants raided a village in the area.
