Kenya Handball Federation national league continues this weekend with the fixtures set to separate the men from the boys for top four title contenders that have had it easy in the league, being unbeaten so far.
The four teams Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), Black Mamba and Strathmore have played 11 matches, but for NCPB who have played nine for 18 points, and have the goals tally separating them.
The fixtures will see KDF take on NCPB today while the other two clash in tomorrow’s fixture. This will result in the first loss for some of the teams excluding an outcome of a draw. In other matches, Ulinzi Youth is first on the court where they face second last placed National Youth Service (NYS) as the former look to improve their standings from 10th to seventh in the event of a win.
Ulinzi stated their campaign on a high registering three win and a draw in their first fixture to be logged fourth but have since gone downhill playing 12 matches for 10 points after four wins, two draws and six losses. Nanyuki play University side St Paul’s while Black Mamba face NYS.
The highlight of the women’s category will be NCPB ladies match against leaders and title-holders Nairobi Water at noon. The latter are unbeaten after seven matches while the former are second with 12 points from six wins and two losses. Another women’s match today will see Embakasi Queens play NYS ladies.
Mt Kenya University- Thika ladies will kick off the matches on Sunday against fellow students Kenyatta University while Water plays NYS in the second match of the day.
